The Riverside Apartment
Barnes
DESIGN: House Nine
OVERVIEW: Custom, mixed-material cabinetry was crafted by hand in the Barr Joinery workshop and installed on site. Pieces included an arched oak wine store and dressing room cabinets, with precisely detailed interiors and finishes chosen to echo the soft hues of the Thames outside.

Wine store
New partition walls were constructed to enclose a solid timber, temperature-controlled wine store. A handcrafted arched frame features recessed, glazed upper door panels and reeded panels below. Antique brass hinges, fittings, and traditional T-bar pull handles enhance the dark-stained oak. Motion-activated warm white LED lighting, with external controls, is installed beneath each shelf, creating a subtle evening glow.

Wardrobes
Shaker-style tulip wood dressing room cabinetry, featuring antique brass butt hinges, was meticulously hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Green Smoke and finished with a neutral green gathered linen.

Solid oak interiors, custom-built to meet each storage need, were dark-stained and fitted with soft brown suede drawer inserts, crafted in-house. Discreet under-shelf LED lighting is activated by PIR sensors.
