The Old Stables //
This barn conversion was sympathetically extended by BarrJoinery's sister company StuartBarrCDR, to improve the living space and increase access to its beautiful country garden. The new gable includes extensive bespoke joinery work with further doorsets to the original part of the house.
The feature oversized entrance door is flanked by high specification fixed glazed panels. The framed, ledged and braced door has vertical boarding to the external face, accentuating its breadth and the wide oak frame surround. The supporting oak corner pillar and staddle stone base exhibits copper junction detail.
A stunning five door system, handmade from European oak is designed as a single passage door, combined with a four panelled bi-fold. The combination allows easy access as well as complete opening, facilitating indoor - outdoor living.
A supporting porch structure of air-dried oak was designed to match the original gable overhang (shown in the background of this image) and built using traditional pegged mortice and tenon joints.
The main door set is complemented by the matching egress window above. The barn style extension was built by sister company StuartBarrCDR.
All closed up and weather tight!
