The Role:

Barr Joinery are looking for an experienced, highly skilled, self-motivated, passionate cabinet maker to join our close-knit team. This individual will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke cabinetry and kitchen commissions to the very highest standard. We need someone with at least two years’ experience, with additional knowledge of cutting list compilation, machinery operational skills and creative problem-solving. This is a workshop-based role, but there would also be time spent on-site and working with the design studio and management team.

About Barr Joinery:

Barr Joinery are a precision cabinetry manufacturer based on a farm site just outside Thame, where we operate from a 200m2 workshop and design studio. We work to the commissions of architects and designers, translating their creative vision into manufacturing drawings, and from there to reality. We also design and manufacture for residential and commercial clients directly; working with them to develop their vision and bring it to life. We are proud to have worked with some of the UK’s most influential interior designers and architects, as well as high-profile clients and brands, over recent years. Our exciting commissions often involve a high level of technical detailing and require mixed materials capability.

Skills and requirements:

  • At least two years’ experience in the manufacture of bespoke fitted cabinetry or equivalent.
  • Ability to draw on experience to guide and inform decisions during the manufacturing process.
  • Demonstrate accurate measurements and work accurately from technical drawings.
  • Complete jobs to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Produce cutting sheets.
  • Working in a tidy conscientious manner, alone and as part of a team.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to the relevant health and safety legislation, working in a confident, safe manner using the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Willingness to undertake any similar duties, as required by the workshop manager.

  • Must have own vehicle and driver's license.
  • Must be over 21 years old.
